Understanding Your Refund Status and Timeline
Once you cancel a booking that is eligible for a refund, here’s what to expect in terms of status, timing, and payment method:
Where to See Your Cancellation Status
- After cancelling, you will receive a confirmation email.
- On your booking management page, the booking status will update to “Cancelled.”
- Note: We don’t show a separate “refund status,” but eligible refunds start automatically as soon as the cancellation is confirmed.
When Will I Receive My Refund?
- Refunds are processed automatically by Vio.com once a cancellation is confirmed.
- Your bank or payment provider typically completes the refund within 7 business days.
- No extra action is needed. If the money hasn’t arrived after seven business days, contact your bank first - they control the final processing time.
How Refunds Are Processed
- We refund to the same card or account you used to pay.
- For security reasons we can’t switch the refund to a different payment method.
What If My Card or Account Has Changed?
If you’ve changed your payment method since making the booking, here’s what you need to know:
- New card, same bank account
The refund still reaches you; the bank links it to your new card automatically. - Old card or account closed
Most banks route the refund to your current card/account. Policies differ, so check with your bank to be sure.
