We understand this can seem worrying, but it's a standard procedure amongst many hotels to assign your room based on the arrival date, rather than immediately after receiving the reservation.
Although we share your booking with the hotel right after it's created, they may first register it in a different system than the one used by the front desk/reception.
This is because the volume of reservations received by the hotel can be very high, and reservations booked long in advance may still get cancelled by the guests. So the hotels prevent additional workload by primarily processing those that arrive soon.
Is it less than a week before your arrival and the hotel doesn't have your room assigned? Please contact us and we will contact the hotel to speed this up for you. Otherwise, we recommend waiting until a week before the stay, as that's typically when the room will be assigned.
Here's a summary of how the confirmation process works
- Once you complete your reservations through Vio.com you will receive a confirmation email.
- Your booking details are automatically shared with the property which you have booked.
- The property registers your reservation and assigns your room either automatically, or manually.
- If done manually, the hotel typically assigns the room about a week before the arrival.
